| Marstons Brewery have opened an excellent pub/restaurant on Plot 1000, known as the Bobbin Mill. |
Buckshaw Village will of course in time provide comprehensive facilities of its own to cater for occupiers of the business park.
As well a superb and varied selection of more than 2,000 new homes, major features planned include a village centre for shopping, a full range of leisure, community and sporting facilities - including football pitches, five-a-side/basketball courts and a bowling green - plus a new primary school.
An abundance of open green space will be retained and new woodland planted to ensure generous leisure and recreation land. Pedestrian and cycle routes will form a central feature, running from the station through the village centre and into the housing areas, with park and ride facilities available.
For now Matrix Park is served on a day to day basis by local facilities provided in the village of Euxton including a couple of good pubs and an Italian restaurant recommended for lunch.
Golfers are well catered for by the proximity of two fine 18-hole courses at Leyland and Shaw Hill. The latter also has a good restaurant and excellent rooms available for overnight visitors - and not necessarily golfers.
There are other hotels in Leyland - the Jarvis right on J28 of the M6 and Farington Lodge in the town - and in Chorley the Hartwood Hall Hotel.
Chorley is a thriving market town with a number of major supermarkets and good shops. A new sports and tennis centre has opened close to J8 of the M61 further improving the leisure facilities on offer.
South Ribble and Chorley are generally considered to be good residential areas and schools within both boroughs are commensurate with that.
