A raft of deals have been secured at Matrix Park in Chorley. Almost 2,323
sq m (25,000 sq ft) of industrial and warehouse space has been sold at Binary
Court, the latest speculative phase within the mixed use scheme which forms
part of the massive 202 hectare (500 acre) Buckshaw Village project.
Specialist metal cutting company, AK Stainless has moved into a 1,394 sq m
(15,000 sq ft) building, while Direct Displays and Exhibitions Ltd has taken
D3, comprising 303 sq m (3,260 sq ft). Garage workshop equipment supplier,
Craig Specialist Services Ltd has purchased D2, a unit of the same size and
the contract on C2 has been agreed with the new owner who is expected to move
into the 303 sq m (3,260 sq ft) unit in February 2008. There is significant
interest in units C1, C3 and C4, leaving only D1 and D4 available to let or
purchase on the scheme located one mile from junction 28 of the M6 and three
miles from junction 8 of the M61.
Speaking of the move, Tony Baran, managing director of AK Specialists, said:
“As a company, we needed premises that could give us a presence in a high profile
development with easy access to the transport network. Matrix Park’s location
is an ideal site from which to service our existing and potential customers,
while raising awareness of the AK Specialists brand.”
News of the deals follows the sale of unit B - a 2,508 sq m (27,000 sq ft)
warehouse to NSG Environmental which was sold prior to Binary Court’s completion
in June this year. Since starting on site five years ago, Matrix Park - a joint
venture between Redrow and Barratt Commercial - has gone from strength to strength,
attracting high profile occupiers such as Barclay & Mathieson, Vernon Carus
and Blackledge Plc.
Redrow’s northern region development director, Adrian Lewis commented: “This
is great news for Binary Court and Matrix Park as a whole. Our policy of building
high specification units with fully fitted office, kitchen and washroom facilities,
allowing occupiers to move in straight away, has clearly paid off. We have
received significant interest in the final two units and I have no doubt it
will not be long before the phase is full.”
Daniel Burn of King Sturge, joint agent on the scheme with DTZ, added: “With
just 697 sq m (7,500 sq ft) in D1 and 835 sq m (9,000 sq ft) in D4 left, Binary
Court is testament to the quality of accommodation available at Matrix Park.
Its close proximity to the motorway network and labour supply has, once again,
proved a draw for occupiers.” |
